Food & Beverage Assistant Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney balances the day-to-day management of the Mode Kitchen & Bar and ensures the smooth operation of the main service periods. The role also involves developing and engaging the team, problem-solving and delivering results from a people, product and profit perspective.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a strong operational presence across all meal serving periods so that service standards and the guest experience remain optimal.
• Provide leadership, development, support, coaching and constructive feedback to the team.
• Cultivate a culture that encourages people to connect and thrive while aligning the team with restaurant goals.
• Drive performance by setting metrics and benchmarks, improving processes and following industry trends.
• Take part in recruitment, selection and retention to secure top talent.
• Build strong internal relationships across the hotel to support the Food & Beverage Division.
• Manage labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, purchasing decisions and stock control.

Required profile

• 2 years' experience in a restaurant leadership role in a 5-star hotel, with a high focus on quality at high volume.
• A passion for providing an outstanding guest experience.
• An authentic, engaging leadership style and a positive, resilient attitude with strong communication skills.
• A collaborative approach that builds strong relations with other hotel departments.
• A strong understanding of luxury, with attention to detail and a high focus on service.
