About the role
Join Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour as a Food & Beverage Supervisor overseeing two distinct venues – Esprit Noir, the sophisticated lobby bar, and Le Rivage, the vibrant poolside bar. You will lead service on the floor, ensure smooth operations, and create memorable guest experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and motivate the Food & Beverage team, fostering a positive culture and Sofitel Heartist attitude.
- Oversee day‑to‑day service across both venues, maintaining high standards of presentation, service and guest experience.
- Coordinate service flow, team deployment and operational requirements for efficient service.
- Engage with guests, anticipate needs and deliver personalised experiences.
- Manage guest feedback, service recovery and ensure resolution.
- Maintain strong product knowledge of food, cocktails, wine and champagne.
- Assist with stock management, ordering, stocktakes and waste minimisation.
- Support revenue generation through upselling and identifying guest experience opportunities.
- Handle POS operations, charging and end‑of‑shift reconciliation.
- Train, coach and develop team members with regular feedback and on‑floor guidance.
- Collaborate with Kitchen, Bar and wider hotel teams for seamless communication.
- Uphold hygiene, cleanliness, responsible service of alcohol and health & safety standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory or senior operational role, preferably in a premium or luxury environment.
- Strong knowledge of bar and restaurant operations and service flow.
- Passion for food, cocktails, wine, champagne and premium beverage service.
- Confidence leading and developing a team in a fast‑paced setting.
- Excellent communication, guest‑focused attitude and ability to resolve challenges calmly.
- Understanding of stock control, POS, revenue generation and cost awareness.
- Organised, detail‑oriented with ability to manage competing priorities.
- Current RSA certificate and full Australian working rights.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
