About the role
The First Nations Legal Internship Programme at Allens offers Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander law students a short, intensive experience in a commercial legal environment. Running from 1 February to 19 February 2027, the internship is hosted across our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth offices.
Key responsibilities
- Join a practice group and work alongside lawyers on real matters, developing legal research and drafting skills.
- Participate in community and pro‑bono projects, and engage with firm committees and interest groups.
- Attend a personalised induction, receive mentorship from a partner and junior lawyer, and build a professional network.
Required profile
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Be currently enrolled in a university law degree.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn, develop new skills and gain practical workplace experience.
