Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will be based in Warrnambool and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role leads the day‑to‑day accounting function, supports the finance team and drives continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting activities, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and general ledger reconciliation.
• Manage the group’s financial reporting obligations such as income tax, FBT, BAS and payroll tax, ensuring accurate preparation and lodgement.
• Develop and maintain efficient finance systems and internal audit processes.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, budgets and financial plans, providing analysis against targets.
• Ensure statutory compliance at State and Federal levels and maintain accounting policies.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant with full current membership.
• 5+ years post‑graduate experience in accounting roles within a commercial environment.
• Extensive people‑management experience, including leading high‑performing finance teams.
• Proven experience managing accounting, tax and statutory compliance for medium to large organisations.

• Microsoft Power BI (beneficial)
• Proficiency with accounting software packages
