Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will be based in Warrnambool and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role leads the day‑to‑day accounting function, supports the finance team and drives continuous improvement across financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting activities, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and general ledger reconciliation.
• Manage the group’s financial reporting obligations such as income tax, FBT, BAS and payroll tax, ensuring timely preparation and lodgement.
• Develop and maintain efficient finance systems and internal audit processes.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets and financial plans, providing analysis against targets.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant with full membership.
• 5+ years post‑graduate experience in accounting within a commercial environment.
• Extensive people‑management experience leading high‑performing finance teams.
• Experience in medium to large organisations handling accounting, tax and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (beneficial)
• Experience with accounting software packages
