Financial Controller – Commercial Property & Hospitality

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced, commercially‑minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our dual‑portfolio of commercial property assets and hotel operations. Reporting directly to the Group Directors, you will be responsible for financial governance, reporting, and tax compliance across both sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, cash flow management, and financial reporting for commercial properties and hotel assets.
• Manage tenant trust accounts, lease administration, outgoings reconciliation, and capital‑expenditure tracking.
• Produce hotel performance reports using USALI standards, RevPAR analysis, and labour‑cost optimisation metrics.
• Ensure statutory reporting, GST, FBT, land‑tax compliance and act as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models, rolling forecasts, annual budgets and asset‑valuation metrics.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team across corporate and operational divisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller.
• Demonstrated dual‑sector expertise in commercial real‑estate and hospitality finance.
• Fully qualified CA or CPA.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder‑management abilities.
