Financial Accountant

About the role

Coronado Global Resources is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team at the Brisbane corporate office. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the Curragh operation, supporting forecasting, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly financial reports, variance analysis and performance dashboards.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, journal entries, reconciliations and fixed‑asset records.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to uphold SOX and internal control compliance.
• Coordinate statutory and industry reporting and support ad‑hoc financial projects.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Site and Corporate teams to align financial outcomes with business priorities.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field with CA or CPA qualification (complete or underway).
• Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
• Strong financial reporting and analysis abilities with a solid understanding of internal controls.
• Proactive mindset and curiosity about how financial performance drives operations.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP, SAC, TM1 or similar ERP/BI systems.
• Advanced Excel capability.
