Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will support month‑end close, statutory reporting and the overall integrity of financial information for a leading global pharmaceutical organisation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role works closely with finance and operational stakeholders to provide insights and support across accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and own month‑end reporting, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Assist with statutory accounts, audit requirements, regulatory compliance and tax/GST obligations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintenance of financial controls.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to aid business decision‑making and partner with internal finance and operational teams.
• Contribute to process improvement, finance transformation initiatives and support external/internal audit activities.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion) with 3‑7 years of experience in financial accounting, audit or reporting.
• Experience in a large corporate, preferably within healthcare, pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent reconciliation, reporting and analytical abilities.
• Proactive mindset with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems in large‑scale finance environments.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
