Finance Lead - Business Partner

About the role

UGL, part of the CIMIC Group, is seeking a Finance Lead to act as a trusted Finance Business Partner across a major services portfolio. The role partners with operational leaders to drive financial performance, reporting excellence and strategic decision-making, while leading a finance and administration team. It is based in Melbourne CBD and inner suburbs, Victoria.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Operations and Contract Managers on business performance and decision-making, including business cases, tenders and commercial evaluations
• Support contract profitability through cost control, pricing reviews, working capital management and margin improvement
• Analyse financial and operational performance and recommend improvements
• Manage end-to-end project financial reporting, including forecasts, cash flow and margin analysis
• Lead month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting and financial planning; present monthly financial dashboards to management
• Ensure balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, accruals and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance and administration team

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Experience supporting projects, operations or maintenance-based businesses
• Strong understanding of contract financial management, cost control, risk management and profitability improvement
• Advanced stakeholder engagement, leadership and influencing skills

Required skills

• Budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance analysis
• SAP experience or exposure to SAP-based projects is highly regarded
• Power BI experience or ability to build reporting dashboards is highly regarded
