Finance & Commercial Analyst

About the role

Mint Payments is a global fintech focused on payment solutions for the travel industry, offering card acquiring, real-time bank transfers, virtual cards and fraud mitigation. It is hiring a full-time Finance & Commercial Analyst based in Sydney, working hybrid. The role reports to the Group Financial Controller with a dotted line to the Risk and Commercial teams, and suits someone with 2-3 years' relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the core financial model, contribute to the FY27 budget, multi-year planning and forecast updates, and analyse performance against budgets and forecasts
• Run scenario and sensitivity analysis, and keep models accurate through checks, documentation and version control
• Build ROI models and business cases, analyse unit economics, margins and profitability, and turn analysis into recommendations
• Work with Commercial and Sales teams on sales pipelines, merchant performance and customer segmentation, and present reporting on commercial metrics
• Support the Risk team with merchant credit risk modelling, exposure analysis, merchant limits and stress testing of chargeback and insolvency exposure
• Deliver ad hoc analysis and presentations across Finance, Commercial and Risk, and improve reporting and data quality

Required profile

• 2-3 years' experience in financial analysis, commercial analysis, FP&A, financial modelling or a similar analytical role
• Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Studies or a related discipline
• Interest in payments, fintech or financial services; experience in these sectors is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience building and maintaining financial models
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with clear communication to non-finance stakeholders
• Structured, accurate approach, attention to detail, independent ownership and cross-team collaboration
