Tax Manager

About the role

Quantium, a global data science and artificial intelligence company founded in Australia in 2002, is building a tax function that is technically excellent, commercially minded and increasingly automated. As Tax Manager, you will own tax across the Quantium group globally, from compliance and provisioning through to advisory, governance and R&D incentives, reporting to the Head of Tax.

Key responsibilities

• Own tax compliance, provisioning and forecasting across all jurisdictions, covering income tax, GST/VAT, FBT and payroll taxes
• Lead transfer pricing, international related-party compliance and global R&D tax incentives
• Give practical, commercial advice on cross-border transactions, employee mobility and new legislation
• Strengthen tax governance so the group stays audit-ready, using automation and AI to transform how tax is done
• Lead and develop a junior team member and build strong relationships with the business, advisors and tax authorities

Required profile

• Finance or law degree; postgraduate qualifications (CA, CPA or CTA) preferred
• 7+ years of tax experience (income tax, GST/VAT, FBT) with international tax exposure
• Tax governance experience, including identifying risks and documenting procedures and controls
• Demonstrated experience managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions and engaging with tax authorities, external advisors and auditors
• Project management skills and people leadership skills

Required skills

• Deep Australian and international tax expertise, including transfer pricing
• Ability to explain complex positions clearly to a CFO, finance analysts or project teams
• Interest in tax technology, automation and AI tools
