Finance Business Partner - Queensland Regional Location

About the role

A well-established Australian food producer with operations across farming, processing and supply has created a new on-site Finance Business Partner role, reporting to the Commercial Manager Farming. The position is based at one of the business's key farming and processing sites in the Queensland region and supports the General Manager and farm leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own month-end, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and capex tracking for the area
• Keep inventory and biological asset models accurate and support the processing leads on site
• Work with operational leaders to identify key cost drivers such as feed, labour and energy
• Explain cost per kg, write-off rates and budget variances in plain language through weekly meetings and monthly commercial updates
• Model scenarios to support stocking, harvest and production decisions and help build business cases for capital investment
• Contribute to the farming savings program by identifying and tracking cost reductions
• Improve processes, reporting and data quality, with the chance to develop skills in Power BI and Snowflake

Required profile

• Hands-on finance professional with experience in manufacturing, processing or agribusiness accounting, ideally including inventory and cost reporting
• Enjoys detailed work, has strong Excel skills and takes pride in accurate numbers
• Comfortable in an operational setting and able to explain financial results clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Based on site, so already living in Proserpine or the surrounding areas, or open to relocating there
