Finance Business Partner

About the role

AFCA, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, is looking for a proactive and strategic Finance Business Partner to join its Finance team in Melbourne. The role partners with Finance, Operations and leaders across the organisation to turn data and insights into action, improving performance and influencing decisions. It reports to the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partnering & Transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver monthly financial results analysis and management reporting
• Handle budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling
• Develop business cases and provide strategic financial advice
• Provide organisation-wide financial and operational insights to support planning
• Drive continuous improvement across financial and operational planning processes

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field
• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex information to stakeholders
• Collaborative, self-motivated and able to work autonomously and in a team
• Able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure
• High ethical standards and commitment to safeguarding sensitive financial information

Required skills

• Data analysis tools such as SQL, R and Python
• Visualisation platforms such as Tableau and Power BI
• Accounting platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 FinOps, SAP and Oracle
• Advanced Excel
