Field Technician Trainee

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field Technician Trainee to join our hot‑tapping and line‑stop service team. The role provides hands‑on training on TDW equipment and prepares you to become a certified hot‑tap field specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site Hot Tapping and Line Stop services at client locations.
• Work closely with clients, engineers and coordinators to define project requirements and execute hot‑tap procedures.
• Rig and prepare pipelines safely for hot‑tapping and line‑stopping, following industry safety standards.
• Adhere to TDW and customer HSE policies, halting work when unsafe conditions arise.
• Troubleshoot field issues using standard procedures to maintain equipment performance.
• Perform calculations and measurements to ensure accurate placement of fittings and line‑stop equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience using hand‑powered tools.
• Self‑driven attitude with ability to start and complete projects under guidance.
• Proficiency with standard PC software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases).
• Technical bolting experience, including operation of hydraulic torque or tensioning equipment (desirable).
• Willingness to travel extensively (over 80 %) and adapt to changing schedules.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication skills.
