Field Engineer – Structural

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Structural Field Engineer to support the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, Queensland. The role involves on‑site engineering activities that ensure safe, high‑quality execution of construction and installation work for the process plant and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings, sketches and method statements.
• Plan and package work packages for field execution.
• Initiate requisitions and manage material purchases for field activities.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and verify material quantities against tracking systems.
• Apply safety and quality control procedures to achieve a zero‑accident environment.
• Conduct technical inspections, testing and validation of installed systems.
• Coordinate system turnover and hand‑over to operations teams.

Required profile

• Experience in field engineering within large‑scale EPC projects.
• Strong understanding of construction planning, material management and quantity verification.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work effectively on a remote site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
