Facilities Manager - QLD Relocation

About the role

A large, established Australian business is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of its facilities and accommodation operations. The role covers a diverse portfolio of operational properties and staff accommodation, keeping sites well maintained, compliant and effective. It is a varied, hands-on position working closely with operational teams, contractors and external service providers, and it is based on-site in regional Queensland; relocation is required for candidates living outside the area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of staff accommodation and operational properties.
• Manage property maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance schedules and general upkeep.
• Coordinate contractors, trades, cleaners and external service providers.
• Manage property inspections, compliance requirements and associated documentation.
• Oversee service agreements, contractor performance and maintenance expenditure.
• Ensure accommodation meets the needs of employees and operational teams.
• Identify maintenance needs, improvements and opportunities to upgrade facilities.
• Support property upgrades, refurbishments and future development projects.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

Required profile

• Practical and organised, with experience overseeing multiple properties, accommodation sites or operational facilities.
• Ideally previous experience in facilities, property or accommodation management.
• Experience coordinating contractors, trades and external service providers.
• Good understanding of property maintenance, building compliance and workplace health and safety.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and competing priorities, and to work autonomously.
• Hands-on approach, willing to get out on site.
• Experience in mining, hospitality, tourism, staff accommodation or other multi-site environments is advantageous.
