External Audit – Senior Analyst to Director

About the role

KPMG Australia is recruiting for its External Audit practice in Sydney, covering both IT External Audit and general Audit & Assurance roles. The advertised positions span Senior Analyst to Director levels, with flexible working options available.

Key responsibilities

• IT External Audit: assist clients in meeting their IT external audit requirements and timelines, and prepare clear, concise IT external audit reports
• Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to engagement team members
• In a leadership role, manage small teams and oversee the planning and execution of IT external audit client engagements
• Support business proposals and business development by identifying new target clients, building relationships and presenting proposals and findings
• Audit & Assurance: lead, manage and execute advisory-related engagements for high-profile clients, covering all aspects of audit delivery, client service and business development
• Work across private and corporate clients (desired)

Required profile

• Analytical mind with structured thinking applied to complex problems
• Leadership skills and a passion for developing them within a diverse, multidisciplinary team
• People-oriented, able to tailor communication for subject matter experts and clients
• For IT External Audit: experience assisting clients with IT audit requirements and timelines, and providing technical direction and training
• For Audit & Assurance: experience leading and executing advisory engagements for high-profile clients

Required skills

• Strong IFRS skills (viewed favourably)
• Certifications such as CA/CPA and CISA/CISM/CRISC viewed favourably
• An innovative, problem-solving mindset enabled through technology
