Executive Director – South-East Queensland Delivery

About the role

Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the delivery of major hospital infrastructure projects across South‑East Queensland. Reporting to the Deputy Director‑General, the role oversees multi‑billion‑dollar capital programmes, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and aligned with Queensland’s health system priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams embedded within hospital campuses across the assigned geographic region.
• Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Drive delivery outcomes for multiple concurrent projects, meeting time, cost and quality targets.
• Integrate commercial, operational, commissioning and digital requirements into project delivery.
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments, balancing clinical, operational and commercial priorities.
• Lead governance, risk management and assurance processes for high‑value programmes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering large‑scale, high‑value infrastructure projects, preferably in the health sector.
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of capital project governance, risk and assurance frameworks.
• Demonstrated capability to manage stakeholder relationships across clinical, operational and commercial domains.
