Estimator – Civil Infrastructure & Defence Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its Adelaide pre‑contracts team. The role will support bids and tenders for a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure, utilities, structures and major defence programmes, working closely with engineering, construction and commercial colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Analyse project drawings, specifications and scope documentation.
• Quantify materials, labour, plant and subcontractor requirements.
• Obtain, assess and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Assist with bid and tender submissions, including cost plans and value engineering.
• Identify project risks, opportunities and cost efficiencies.
• Review construction methodologies and provide buildability input.
• Support tender‑to‑delivery handover to project teams.
• Maintain estimating databases, benchmarks and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
• 5‑10 years’ experience as an Estimator within civil construction.
• Ability to estimate across civil, structural and utilities disciplines.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience working within structured tender and governance environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Australian citizenship (mandatory for defence projects).
