Enrolled Nurse – Permanent Pool (Royal Hobart Hospital)

About the role

The Permanent Pool provides a flexible nursing workforce that supports inpatient services across the Royal Hobart Hospital and Repatriation Centre. As an Enrolled Nurse in this pool you will work in a fast‑paced environment, covering a variety of medical and surgical units while contributing to hospital flow and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients across multiple inpatient areas.
• Respond to staffing surges, clinical priorities and emergency situations (MET/CODE Blue).
• Support hospital transfers and assist the Clinical Resource Nurse team as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to NMBA standards.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience.
• Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional development.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and patient monitoring.

• Wound care and dressing changes.
• Basic life support and emergency response.
