English Teacher

About the role

A permanent full-time position is available at John Therry Catholic College in Rosemeadow, NSW, starting 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will teach English. The role of Classroom Teacher supports growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students can reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Plan and deliver effective teaching and learning in English.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic school within the broader Catholic Church.
• Knowledge of the diverse needs of students and ability to apply it to support their full participation in learning.
• Appropriate qualifications for teaching the nominated Key Learning Area(s).
• Level B accreditation under the To Work, Teach and Lead policy, or a commitment to achieve it within five years of employment with CEDoW.
• Registered to teach with NESA.
• Working With Children Check (WWCC) required before employment, as the role is child-related.

Desirable

• Ability to teach all stages.
• Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
