Engineering Business Manager – Mining

About the role

Solmax is seeking an Engineering Business Manager for its Mining division. The role drives specification‑led growth by influencing civil, geotechnical and mining engineers to embed Solmax geosynthetic solutions at the design stage of mine infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with civil and geotechnical consultants, mining engineers, asset owners and key contractors.
• Influence design specifications, scopes and engineering standards to embed Solmax solutions early in project lifecycles (concept, feasibility, detailed design).
• Provide advanced technical guidance and design support for Tailings Storage Facilities, heap leach pads, evaporation ponds, water‑management structures, haul roads and working platforms.
• Deliver value‑engineering solutions, technical presentations and workshops for consultants and owners.
• Interpret and apply relevant standards and guidelines such as ANCOLD and GRI.
• Develop and manage a mining project pipeline across Australia, converting specifications into supply and revenue.
• Establish Solmax as a trusted engineering partner to Tier 1 mining companies, engineering consultancies and contractors.

Required profile

• Deep technical credibility in mining, civil or geotechnical engineering.
• Strong commercial execution and ability to influence specifications.
• Proven experience engaging with engineers and contractors at early project stages.
• Ability to build strategic relationships at both technical and decision‑making levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ANCOLD standards.
• Knowledge of GRI guidelines.
• Technical expertise in geosynthetic applications for mining infrastructure.
