Emergency Medicine Hospital Medical Officer – Werribee

About the role

Mercy Health is expanding its Emergency Department at Werribee Mercy Hospital and is looking for Hospital Medical Officers to join the new service from day one. This role offers the chance to work in a modern, high‑acuity environment supporting an additional 25,000 patients each year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care in state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including new resuscitation bays, a 16‑bed Short Stay Unit and dedicated paediatric and behavioural zones.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely, patient‑centred treatment.
• Contribute to the launch and ongoing development of the expanded Emergency Department.
• Support fast‑track and behavioural assessment pathways.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
• Commitment to high standards of practice and consumer‑focused care.
• Flexibility to work within the Public Emergency Health Services system.
• Prior experience in public emergency services is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork, professionalism and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced ED environment.
