Electronics Technician – Rail & Technology Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our Rivervale workshop, supporting the repair, testing and manufacturing of electronics, communications and rail signalling equipment for critical transport infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, test and assemble a wide range of electronic, communication and rail signalling equipment.
• Interpret schematics, technical drawings and parts lists to identify faults.
• Conduct testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Perform precision wiring, terminations, soldering and PCB work.
• Disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble electromechanical components.
• Assist with materials management, workshop operations and prepare service records and repair documentation.

Required profile

• Electrical Licence and/or Certificate III in Electronics and Communications, Certificate IV in Rail Signalling or related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electronics servicing, repairs and fault‑finding to component level.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and occasional night/weekend shifts.
