Driver Trainer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced heavy‑vehicle professional to join our team as a Driver Trainer. You will develop and support our drivers through practical training, coaching and competency assessment, helping to strengthen safe driving practices across our transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver practical and classroom‑based training for new and existing drivers.
• Conduct competency assessments across bulk tanker, cylinder and ISO operations.
• Coach and mentor drivers to improve capability and safe driving practices.
• Perform in‑cab observations, route assessments and field safety audits.
• Provide Dangerous Goods awareness, defensive driving and vehicle risk‑management training.
• Review driver performance and offer coaching after incidents or non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
• Current Multi‑Combination (MC) Licence and Dangerous Goods Driver Licence.
• Minimum five years heavy‑vehicle driving experience, including LPG and/or cryogenic tankers.
• Experience delivering driver training and competency assessments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law, Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management.
• Understanding of defensive driving and safe vehicle operations.
• Ability to coach, mentor and communicate effectively in an operational environment.
