Domestic Assistant - Home Care, Gippsland

About the role

A not-for-profit aged care organisation is seeking expressions of interest for domestic assistants to join its Community, Health and Care team, supporting clients over the age of 65 across the Gippsland region. The work is aimed at helping older Victorians live comfortably and independently in their own homes, and it is presented as an opportunity to start a career as a care worker without a qualification. Key responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support so older clients can live comfortably and independently in their own homes
• Help clients stay connected and engaged socially and with the things they enjoy
• Assist with daily activities such as general cleaning and meal preparation

Required profile

• Genuine passion for caring and ability to build rapport with clients
• Respect for all people, regardless of background, gender, age, religion, race or sexual orientation
• Your own vehicle, current driver's licence and comprehensive car insurance, to drive between clients' homes and drive clients as required
• Willingness to travel between clients, sometimes up to three per day and up to 30 minutes apart
• Reasonable availability, at least 3 days per week
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (held or obtained)

What we offer

• Permanent part-time contracts of at least 10 hours per fortnight, with shifts based on client needs and your location and availability
• $33.11 per hour plus superannuation and travel reimbursement

• Salary packaging up to $18,550 per year
• Flexibility to choose days and hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
