Director - Program Operational Continuity (SO3)

About the role

A senior leader is sought for the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) within Queensland's Department of Primary Industries (DPI), based in Berrinba. The role drives operational continuity across facilities, fleet, logistics, data and digital services and shapes the program's long-term operational footprint through to 2032. It is a 6-month contract with flexible working arrangements, paid at $115-$125 per hour plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead facilities, fleet, logistics, data and digital solution functions across the program footprint.
• Develop and deliver a long-term Strategic Estate Plan through to 2032.
• Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement and high-performance outcomes.
• Provide executive-level advice on complex operational and strategic issues.
• Build partnerships across government and corporate service providers.
• Lead teams through change while maintaining critical operational capability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience managing large-scale operational services in complex environments.
• Demonstrated leadership in the strategic management of facilities, fleet and logistics functions.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic plans in complex organisations.
• Current unrestricted C Class driver licence.
• Highly regarded: relevant tertiary qualification; experience in strategic planning, program delivery, project management or operational transformation; exposure to biosecurity, emergency response or large-scale operations.
