Director of Project Management (Client-Side / Construction)

About the role

A well-established Sydney client-side project management consultancy is adding a third director. The firm specialises in social infrastructure, around 80% health, education, social housing and aged care, and delivers projects worth hundreds of millions. It is looking for someone who has built a business unit before and wants to do it again with equity and a say in the business's direction.

Key responsibilities

• Project delivery: manage the PM team, stay hands-on with projects and clients, and guide the internal team
• Business development: identify new work, cultivate existing relationships, leverage the network, prepare tender and bid submissions and win work
• Business operations: take part in day-to-day management of the business, team and commercial performance (P&L)

Required profile

• Minimum 15+ years of client-side experience and several years leading a team of 10 or more
• Track record of winning work and building a practice
• Established in Sydney with an existing NSW network
• Currently running a director-level role in another consulting firm, not seeking to move into one

What we offer

• Permanent position with a fixed base plus an at-risk component tied to KPIs, and equity on the table
• Salary of AU$250,000 to AU$300,000 per annum
• Working from home at least one day a week
