Director of Marketing Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing & Communications will lead the marketing, brand, public relations and communications strategy for the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast as it rebrands to the LXR Hotel and Resort – Hilton’s first luxury hotel in Australia. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role focuses on brand rollout, pre‑opening activities and elevating the hotel’s luxury positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated annual marketing and communications strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
• Drive brand awareness, market share growth, revenue and customer acquisition across all segments.
• Manage annual marketing budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
• Serve as guardian of brand standards across all channels and guest touchpoints.
• Lead public relations activities including media relations, influencer engagement and executive profiling.
• Support major hotel repositioning, refurbishment, rebranding and pre‑opening initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Hospitality or related field.
• Minimum 6+ years progressive marketing and communications experience, with at least 3 years in senior leadership.
• Proven experience in luxury hotel or luxury lifestyle brands, including pre‑openings and rebranding projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyse performance data.
• Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high‑performing teams.
