Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance

About the role

Metro Tasmania is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance of its Hobart-based fleet on a full-time 24-month maximum term contract. The role is based at the Hobart workshop and keeps the fleet safe, compliant and ready to serve the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing the fleet of buses so they stay safe, compliant and operational
• Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
• Perform breakdown repairs as required
• Complete inspections and maintenance documentation
• Ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance requirements
• Work independently while contributing to fleet reliability

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy vehicles
• Australian working rights and ability to work from the Hobart location
