Heavy Diesel Mechanic

About the role

A trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic is sought to service heavy civil machinery and earth-moving equipment. The role suits someone who enjoys hands-on maintenance and repair in a safety-focused crew. The position is based in Hobart, Tasmania.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing, inspecting and repairing a wide range of machinery, including trucks, mobile plant and equipment
• Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
• Using modern diagnostic tools to identify faults quickly
• Working with the team to meet deadlines while keeping safety standards at the forefront

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (cert III+)
• Drivers licence / truck licence
• White card
• Detail-oriented problem solver and clear communicator who works well in a team
• Flexibility to cover on-site jobs, occasional weekends or call-outs
