Design Consultant - Defence

About the role

WSP is seeking a Design Consultant to lead design delivery for Defence projects across Australia. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage technical documentation, and ensure high‑quality outputs that meet project milestones. The role offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work on high‑profile, national‑level infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall design responsibility for a variety of Defence projects.
• Deliver best‑practice consulting services to Defence clients nationwide.
• Manage client and contractor relationships for key Defence infrastructure.
• Support proposal preparation and submission for new Defence opportunities.
• Lead project teams, overseeing budget, schedule, and quality control.
• Leverage national team expertise to provide efficient, innovative solutions.
• Liaise with technical specialists across disciplines and locations.
• Participate in national and global Defence industry groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3–10 years of design management experience within Australia.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams.
