About the role
Join the Breakfast Team at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour as a Demi Chef, supporting banquet operations and ensuring high‑quality culinary output for large‑scale events.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain immaculate workstations, uphold hygiene standards and prevent cross‑contamination.
- Prepare, cook and plate banquet menu items to Sofitel brand standards, following recipe cards.
- Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs, manage your allocated kitchen section and ensure smooth service.
- Collaborate with all departments, report maintenance or safety concerns promptly, and contribute to team goals.
Required profile
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen role, preferably in banquets.
- Strong communication, professional presentation and availability for rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
- Genuine passion for gastronomy and high‑volume kitchen environments.
Required skills
- Fundamental cooking techniques for meats, seafood, vegetables, starches and desserts.
- Food safety standards and HACCP practices.
