About the role
Sidelink Transport, a fast‑growing family‑owned wharf transport business in Melbourne’s west, is looking for a Dayshift Fleet Controller to join its Operations Team. Reporting to the Dayshift Transport Supervisor, you will oversee a fleet of 35‑45 drivers, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant container movements throughout the shift.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily fleet allocation, driver runs and transport movements for 35‑45 drivers.
- Drive efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction while optimizing driver runs.
- Ensure compliance with CoR, Fatigue Management and NHVR regulations.
- Reduce driver downtime, trailer hire and demurrage costs.
- Communicate any delays promptly to the Customer Service team.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 + years experience in container transport and fleet control.
- Strong planning and problem‑solving abilities, able to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of Melbourne metro suburbs, toll points and typical delivery windows.
Required skills
- Experience with Freight Tracker (preferred).
