Data Engineer – Remote (Australia)

About the role

Future Group is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and operate reliable, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. Working remotely from anywhere in Australia, you will transform raw data into trusted, accessible information that powers reporting, analytics, automation and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from internal and external data sources.
• Build and optimise data models and integrations with APIs and other systems.
• Maintain and improve the performance, reliability and cost‑efficiency of the Databricks platform.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and alerting to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with the Senior Data Manager, Solution Architect, business analysts and stakeholders across the organisation.

Required skills

• Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development.

• Understanding of data quality, monitoring and alerting practices.
