Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Cyber Security Engineering Lead, you will safeguard BAE Systems’ digital assets across cloud, web, application, IT and OT environments. You will provide guidance on security design, policies and standards to protect systems and data from threats.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security input during design and implementation of new systems and technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend security controls for cloud, web, application, IT and OT infrastructure.
• Perform threat hunting by monitoring and analysing security logs and alerts to identify incidents.
• Manage vulnerability management processes, including identification, assessment, prioritisation and remediation.
• Implement and maintain data loss prevention measures to protect sensitive information.
• Assist with governance, risk and compliance activities, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Degree in Cyber Security, ICT, Engineering or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Experience in a cyber security role or administering enterprise infrastructure with a strong understanding of security concepts.
• Defence security clearance NV1 or eligibility to obtain, and eligibility for ITAR clearance.
