Cyber Business Systems Analyst – SIEM Project (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Business Systems Analyst to support the delivery of a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) initiative as part of a broader cyber security uplift programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and undertake business analysis activities across multiple work packages, eliciting and documenting functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Conduct current‑state assessments, support future‑state design, and develop process models, business rules and artefacts.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews and working sessions to identify business needs and opportunities.
• Identify impacts, risks and dependencies associated with cyber security uplift activities and support implementation approaches.
• Contribute to capability maturity assessments, gap analysis and uplift planning.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with business stakeholders, cyber security specialists, architects and technical teams.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle and support prioritisation of requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience undertaking business analysis within complex ICT or cyber security initiatives, especially in Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments.
• Experience supporting cyber security programmes such as SOC maturity uplift, Essential Eight, Zero Trust or similar.
• Familiarity with Queensland Government or large public sector environments is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business requirements.
