Customer Field Technician - Brisbane

About the role

nbn is looking for a Customer Field Technician based in the Brisbane area. This customer-facing, field-based role involves delivering hands-on installation, repair, activation and connection services in customers' homes, indoors and outdoors. It suits tradespeople, trade assistants and field workers from backgrounds in telecommunications, construction, plumbing, civil works or general labouring, offering a chance to develop technical capability in a physically active, safety-critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, activate and connect in-home technologies using a range of tools and test equipment
• Commission and service in-home technologies, applying safe work practices and risk controls onsite
• Work in physically active conditions, including lifting and carrying equipment, working at heights or in ceiling spaces, and moving between kneeling and standing positions
• Use methodical fault-finding and attention to detail to complete work safely and to a high standard
• Provide clear, respectful in-premise customer service, explaining findings, next steps and outcomes
• Build capability in additional activation and connection tasks through structured training and support from experienced colleagues

Required profile

• Background in telecommunications, construction, plumbing, civil works or general labouring
• Experience using hand and power tools, working outdoors and following work instructions
• Ability to work safely and follow procedures, risk controls and safety guidelines
• Clear communication and respectful behaviour in customer and public environments
• Current driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia; the role is permanent and full time
