Customer Field Technician – Brisbane Metro

About the role

nbn is hiring a Customer Field Technician in Brisbane to join its internal workforce. This hands-on, customer-focused role helps connect homes and communities by completing a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies. Previous experience in telecommunications is not needed, as full training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently to complete installations, repairs, maintenance and customer support across nbn technologies.
• Install copper or fibre cabling and set up customer equipment.
• Identify and fix faults.
• Support customers in their homes or businesses and keep them informed throughout the process.
• Apply safe work practices and follow nbn's safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Enjoy hands-on work such as problem-solving and feel comfortable speaking with customers.
• Background in a trade, hands-on technical job or customer-focused trade role is highly valued; experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work or manufacturing is also valued.
• Apprentices are welcome.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and take pride in quality work.
• Strong commitment to safety and clear communication skills.
• Current, clean driver's licence.
• Full working rights in Australia; a criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment are required.
