Critical Care Registrar – Doctors in Training 2027 (ICU)

About the role
The Launceston General Hospital Intensive Care Unit is seeking Doctors in Training for 2027 to join as Accredited Critical Care Registrars. This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers rotational shift work in a 11‑bed ICU serving North and North West Tasmania.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care to adult patients in the ICU.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, emergency calls and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Undertake investigations, interventions and procedures under supervision.
- Contribute to weekly teaching sessions, journal clubs and morbidity‑mortality meetings.
- Engage in research projects and apply for available grants.
Required profile
- Medical graduate eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Commitment to the 2027 training cohort and willingness to work up to 76 hours per fortnight on a rotational on‑call schedule.
- Interest in completing rotations in anaesthesia, medicine, emergency medicine or aeromedical retrieval.
Required skills
- Echocardiography training and proficiency.
