Credit Assessor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Assessor to join Athena’s fast‑growing home‑loan team. You will manage the end‑to‑end assessment of residential loan applications, working closely with customers, brokers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess residential home‑loan applications within Athena’s credit risk appetite and your delegated lending authority.
• Communicate with customers and brokers to workshop applications and deliver decision outcomes.
• Manage a pipeline of applications from submission through to unconditional approval.
• Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards.
• Support team performance and contribute to a positive start‑up culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years residential credit assessment experience (PAYG and self‑employed).
• Hold a Delegated Lending Authority.
• Experience with complex loans (bridging, commercial, trust, company) – willingness to learn is essential.
• Confident communication with customers and brokers.
• Ability to work within policy and suggest improvements.
• Proven ability to manage a high‑volume pipeline in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and excellence‑focused.
