Cook - Bar and Hotel Kitchen

About the role

Six Degrees Albany is a multi-service hospitality venue combining a bar, restaurant and accommodation in the heart of Albany, with live music and a bold menu. It is looking for a Cook to join its kitchen team. The position is casual, with the chance to move to a full-time role for someone who shows passion, reliability and a good fit for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Keep dish preparation consistently high and aligned with the venue's creative direction.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workplace in line with health and safety regulations.
• Work with kitchen and front-of-house staff to keep service smooth and efficient.
• Perform well in a fast pace, especially during busy periods such as live music nights.
• Help with food prep, mise en place and kitchen organisation as directed by the Head Chef.
• Support team morale and a productive kitchen culture.

Required profile

• At least 1-2 years' experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen (a must).
• Ability to work under pressure and stay calm during high-volume service.
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen safety and hygiene.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Pride in the quality of work and attention to detail.
