Cook – Aged Care Facility

About the role

St Vincent's Care Services Yennora (locally known as Rosary Village), a 141-bed aged care facility about 29 km from Sydney's CBD, is looking for a Cook. You will join an experienced, engaged and dedicated team that helps create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for its residents. This is a permanent full-time position, Saturday to Wednesday, 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals and produce special dietary requirements, with knowledge of aged care nutrition and special diets being advantageous.
• Plan dining services and handle chilled production.
• Follow directives according to each resident's care plan.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Preferred: trade qualification in commercial cooking.
• Current Food Handler Certificate.
• Proven experience in volume cooking, such as hotels, healthcare or similar environments.
• Nationally coordinated criminal history check within 6 months; NDIS Worker Screening Check required.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of food services, including chilled production and dining service planning.
• Understanding of aged care and resident rights and responsibilities.
• High level of customer service, attention to detail and communication skills.
