Cook – Aged Care Home

About the role

St Vincent's Care Services Bronte, a 107-bed boutique residential aged care home in the Bronte area of Sydney, is looking for a Cook to join its kitchen and catering services team. The role prepares and cooks high-quality, nutritious meals for residents, staff and visitors while meeting individual dietary requirements. It is a permanent part-time position with two sets of shifts: Monday and Tuesday 6:30am to 2:30pm, and Wednesday and Thursday 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present consistent, high-quality meals for residents, staff and visitors, following approved recipes and catering for functions as required.
• Follow individual resident dietary needs and food preferences in consultation with the clinical team and dieticians.
• Apply, monitor and maintain food safety programs, hygiene standards and clean kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Assist with purchasing, receipting and general kitchen support, supporting risk management and workplace health and safety.
• Deliver catering services efficiently as part of a collaborative team.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in a similar role, ideally in aged care or a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of aged care nutrition, special diets and food safety compliance.
• Customer service skills, collaborative and inclusive approach, and strong planning and time management.
