Contract Manager

About the role

The Contract Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and continuously improving the procurement and contract management strategy for a Queensland government department. You will ensure contracts deliver expected outcomes and support the organisation's future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and refine procurement and contract management strategies from needs assessment through to system rollout.
• Design benchmarking and evaluation methodologies and conduct regular contract performance reviews.
• Report contract performance to senior management, highlighting risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain the central contract register and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Provide expert advice on contract deliverables and liaise with local contract authorities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts meet legislation, standards and policies.
• Represent the department in procurement forums and develop tools, standards and training for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Completed Level 3 Procurement Certification (Diploma in Government – Procurement and Contracting) or Level 4 Advanced Diploma.
• Extensive knowledge of public sector procurement, contract administration, performance management and Queensland Government tendering processes.
• Proven ability to contribute to strategic and operational planning through innovative problem‑solving.
