About the role
BlueScope is seeking a Contact Centre Coordinator to join its Steel Direct team in Port Kembla. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one day remote, and provides exposure to multiple business streams within a leading Australian steel manufacturer.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for consumers, tradespeople and professionals, responding to enquiries via phone, email and web channels.
- Provide product and technical information on BlueScope’s premium steel brands, or route queries to the appropriate internal teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, technical and innovation functions.
- Gather and share insights that help improve customer experience and inform internal teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance systems and processes and support implementation of improvements.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving customer and employee experience and operational efficiency.
Required profile

- Understanding of the building and construction industry, particularly steel products.
- Ability to multitask across phone, email and web platforms.

- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
