Construction Manager

About the role

Multiplex, a construction company delivering some of Australia's most complex and iconic projects, is looking for a Construction Manager for a full-time, permanent position based in Adelaide. The role provides senior leadership across the delivery of construction projects, covering safety, programme, cost, quality and commercial performance, working closely with project leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuity from bid through to delivery, overseeing construction delivery, risk, resourcing and project performance.
• Lead project delivery, construction methodology, programming, subcontractor selection and negotiations.
• Lead and develop project teams and build strong client relationships.
• Ensure projects are positioned to achieve their operational and commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading the delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing project teams.
• Tertiary qualification in Building, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience managing construction risk, industrial relations and project compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methodologies, techniques and sequencing.
• Commercial acumen across project budgets, forecasting, contract administration and project profitability.
• Negotiation and stakeholder management with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, the Building Code of Australia and construction industry requirements.
• Understanding of construction markets, including labour, resources and subcontractor considerations.
