Construction Lawyer (Associate/Senior Associate)

About the role

A highly regarded mid-sized commercial law firm in the Melbourne CBD is looking for an experienced construction lawyer to join its Construction and Infrastructure team. The role is predominantly front-end, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex construction and infrastructure contracts. It suits someone who wants genuine career progression and practice-building support.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction and infrastructure contracts.
• Prepare contractual advice and advise on project risk allocation.
• Provide strategic advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise on contract administration, claims and project-related issues.
• Assist clients with dispute resolution strategy where required.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice.

Required profile

• Ideally 4+ years of professional experience in construction and infrastructure law.
• Strong front-end construction experience.
• Confidence managing matters and dealing directly with clients.

Required skills

• Excellent contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to high-quality work.
