Commercial & Retail Leasing Associate

About the role

A recruitment partner is advertising a full-time Commercial & Retail Leasing Associate position in Melbourne CBD, for a respected mid-tier commercial law firm with an established property practice. The role focuses primarily on retail and commercial leasing, with exposure to other areas of property law, alongside experienced practitioners and a growing client base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a variety of commercial and retail leasing matters
• Draft, review and negotiate leases, agreements for lease, renewals and related documentation
• Advise clients on leasing arrangements, obligations and negotiations
• Handle lease variations, assignments and other leasing-related matters
• Gain exposure to other areas of property law
• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with partners and colleagues and deliver commercially focused advice

Required profile

• Ideally at least 2 years of professional experience in property law, including leasing, particularly retail and/or commercial leasing
• Experience gained within a commercial law firm or specialist property practice
• Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail and a practical, client-service-focused approach
• Drive to further develop expertise and advance your career
