Conference & Event Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail‑oriented part‑time Conference & Event Supervisor to lead our conference and events team at Mercure Perth. You will ensure seamless delivery of corporate and private functions, maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise banquet, conference and meeting room events, coordinating catering timelines, AV requirements and room setups.
• Liaise with the Conference & Events Sales team for smooth handovers and flawless execution.
• Oversee daily conference and events operations, maintaining quality standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop events and catering staff to achieve operational excellence.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure menu quality, consistency and timely delivery.
• Manage inventory, place orders and control costs while upholding product quality.
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests and event modifications promptly.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, health and safety regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Service‑focused personality with a passion for food and beverage.
• Previous experience in a similar leadership role is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities, able to lead by example.
• RSA certification required; Approved Manager Card desired.
• Flexibility to work afternoon shifts and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
• Approved Manager Card (desired).
